Welcome to Seurasaari to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and admire the atmosphere of a bygone era in the buildings of the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum!
Founded in 1909, the museum was already located in an outdoor area popular with the city's residents, and today the wooded paths and cliffs of Seurasaari continue to attract a large number of outdoor and cultural visitors.
The museum's 88 buildings were moved to the island from all over Finland. The oldest log buildings date back to the end of the 17th century, but most of the houses have been in use until the early 20th century. The Seurasaari Opne-Air Museum and museum houses are open from 15 May to 15 September with an entrance ticket.
The City of Helsinki's outdoor area and the island's scenery can be enjoyed all year round. However, please park your bicycle by the bridge leading to the island, as cycling has been banned on the island since the end of the 19th century.
