Blinking signals

When Suomenlinna church was converted into a Lutheran church, the church tower was fitted with an AGA gas beacon light. A lighthouse serving ship and air traffic still operates in the church tower. The beacon emits four consecutive blinks which in Morse code stands for the letter H, for Helsinki. In 1994 the lighthouse cupola was taken down, its structures were reinforced and painted and reinstalled on top of the church tower.
