There is nothing that screams more Finnish than an authentic Finnish sauna. Sauna culture has been important to Finns throughout history. In the sauna we cleanse our bodies and our minds. When it gets too hot we go out to cool off and then we head back in again. There are plenty of places to have a sauna experience in Helsinki. Allas Sea Pool’s saunas and outdoor pools float right next to the Market Square, City Hall and Presidential Palace, so the view from Allas is pretty great. Allas has a heated pool and a pool that is the same temperature as the sea water. Löyly is a modern seaside sauna with a traditional smoke-sauna and a wood-burning sauna. Löyly’s outdoor seating area is ideal to cool off after a good steam and from the seating area you can descend the steps and dip into the Baltic Sea.
