St. John's Church is a Lutheran church in neo-Gothic style. With its central location and stately appearance, St. John's Church is a popular wedding venue. Thanks to its good acoustics, it is also popular for concerts.

The parish of St. John's celebrates high mass in Swedish in St. John's Church every Sunday at 12 noon. In addition, we hold midday prayer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12 noon and weekly mass on Wednesdays at 6 pm, from September to May.

Johanneskyrkan was built on Röddäldshöjden on the outskirts of the former city and was completed in 1891. The church was designed by Adolf Emil Melander from Stockholm. The church was initially called the New Church.
