The new Michelin stars for the Nordic countries were awarded to restaurants on Monday 27 May. At the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Nordic Countries in Helsinki, The ROOM by Kozeen Shiwan restaurant received its first Michelin star and Restaurant Nokka received a Green Star for environmental responsibility. In total, there are now six Michelin-starred restaurants and four Green Star restaurants in Helsinki.
The stars awarded at the "MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Nordic Countries" are the most coveted and prestigious recognition in the restaurant industry. Held at the Savoy Theatre and Helsinki City Hall in Helsinki, the event brought together more than 160 chefs and restaurateurs from the Nordic countries and over 60 representatives from the international and national media.
Finnish restaurants received two new stars at the gala, one of which went to The ROOM by Kozeen Shiwan restaurant in Helsinki. The restaurant received its stars just five months after opening. The other star went to Tapio Restaurant in Ruka, Finland.
In addition, Restaurant Nokka in Helsinki received a Green Star for environmental responsibility.
The gala also included Special Awards for excellence in the sector and the announcement of new Bib Gourmand restaurants. In Helsinki, the Bib Gourmand award for good value for money went to Plein and 305. Bardot and Le Ankka in Helsinki are also new restaurants included in the MICHELIN Guide Nordic Countries 2024.
In total, The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Countries 2024 includes 85 star restaurants and 36 MICHELIN Green Star restaurants. There are nine star restaurants in Finland, six of which are in Helsinki: the two-star restaurant Palace and the one-star restaurants Finnjävel Salonki, Demo, Grön, Olo and The ROOM by Kozeen Shiwan. Green Star restaurants in Helsinki include Ravintola Nokka, Grön, Nolla and Natura.
