The Suomenlinna sea fortress is a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Helsinki archipelago. The fortress is also a district of Helsinki and home to around 800 residents. Suomenlinna has been shaped through history as part of the defence of Sweden, Russia and Finland. The multi-faceted visitor attraction features six kilometres of walls, a hundred cannons, exciting tunnels and beautiful parkland.
