Hakaniemi Market Hall is a two-storey shopping hall located on the edge of Hakaniemi. It offers high-quality food, household goods, gifts, jewellery, textiles, coffee, tea, organic products and flowers. The hall's cafés and restaurants offer refreshing breakfasts, coffee sandwiches and a wide range of lunch options. Designed by architect Karl Hård af Segerstad, Hakaniemi Kauppahalli was opened in 1914.

Kallio Church, designed by architect Lars Sonck, is one of Helsinki's most famous landmarks. The church was completed at the end of the Unioninkatu-Siltasaarenkatu axis in 1912 and is one of the purest examples of the National Romanesque architectural style in Finland. The church is decorated with Art Nouveau murals.
