The room is decorated in the Custavian style, named after King Gustav III. The King was attracted to the new French classicist style of Louis XVI. The objects were given a new straight, geometric look inspired by ancient themes. Comfort, cosiness and lightness were the hallmarks of the style. French and English trends ran parallel in furniture design.
The room contains a rare cabinet clock designed by the Stockholmer Peter Strand, with an organ-positive mechanism built into the mechanism. The bell can play 14 different short pieces of music.
