The President’s Room is named after President Pehr Evind Svinhufvud (1861–1944) and his wife Ellen (1889–1953), who stayed overnight there in the late 1930s. The couple had visited Söderlångvik a year earlier, but at that time Amos had not yet built the wings of the house that now contain guest rooms. The visit made Amos realise that his country residence was too modest for such distinguished guests, a state of affairs he quickly set out to change. The beds in the President’s Room are late Gustavian period pieces from the beginning of the 20th century. The sofa and chairs are in the same style.
