The Rococo suite in the billiard room was originally intended to serve Prince Friedrich Charles of Hesse, the would-be first king of Finland. When the country became a republic instead, the king’s furniture was put on sale in the antiques section of the Stockmann department store, where Amos bought the suite. Made in the late 19th century, the oak suite also includes a sofa. The corner pedestal is in the Empire style and veneered with mahogany. The console table is a period piece in the late Gustavian style.
