The Baroque-style armchairs in the library are made by Kerava Joinery. The rocking chair and the pump organ are the only remaining pieces of furniture from Amos’s childhood home in Brokärr, Kemiö. Amos would sit here, read his morning paper, and listen to the radio. The rustic rocking chair was probably made at the beginning of the 19th century. The spindle back is unusual for its time; this type of backrest did not become common in Finland until the end of the 19th century. The smoking table, with its embossed brass top featuring Arabic script, was made in a Muslim country. Tables like this were common at the end of the 19th century, and were used to store smoking accessories. The gramophone and the radio table are both from the 1930s.
