Alfred and Hélène Jacobson’s home was a two-storey stone building built in 1833 and located at Hämeenkatu 30 in Turku. The building was a very fine example of the Classicist architecture which had developed in Turku after the Great fire of 1827. With its Renaissance-style façade, the palace-like house had been built according to drawings originally made by the Turku-based architect Charles Johnsson. Alfred Jacobsson had acquired the property as early as 1876 and subsequently the home established there was characterised by changes in style over more than half a century. In 1955 the building was demolished due to its poor condition.
