Helsinki Baltic Herring Market is one of the oldest public events in Finland, and has been celebrated in Helsinki since 1743.

Over the years, the Herring Market has evolved from a food hunt to an atmospheric milestone of the autumn season, combining Helsinki's maritime archipelago tradition with modern food culture. The Herring Market offers an autumnal taste trip to the North Sea in a lively market atmosphere.

The aim of the market is to support fishermen's livelihoods and to promote herring and cyprinids as a responsible, healthy and delicious food choice. This year, more than 25 fishermen from all over Finland will take part in the market. Other traditional artisan, island and bakery products will also be available at the market. In addition, the traditional sailing boats Albanus, Olga, Valborg and Vivan will anchor at Helsinki's Market Square for the market week, where you can enjoy fish and other delicacies on the spot.

Helsinki Baltic Herring Market will be held on Helsinki's Market Square from 6 to 12 October, from Sunday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
