A cylinder was placed in Haltia's foundation stone, containing Haltia’s charter, illustrations and main architectural plans, the day’s edition of Helsingin Sanomat, current coins, a map of state-owned lands, and a national park flag. The concluding words of the charter state Haltia’s ultimate purpose: to inspire visitors, especially children and young people, to connect with nature.

The cylinder also included stones from five national parks located in different parts of Finland: Lapland, Kvarken Archipelago, Koli, Tammisaari National Park, and Helvetinjärvi National Park. These stones serve as a reminder that Haltia represents all of Finland's national parks.
