Lapland, the unknown wilderness in the far North

Two hundred years ago Lapland was uncharted wilderness far beyond the network of roads. Population was scarce and the few inhabitants there lived off the land. Waterways were main routes of communication during the summer. Skis or reindeer and sledge were used in the winter. Gradually, rumours were spreading of discoveries of gold… Minera Avri!
