Anna Rikkinen studied jewelry design and art in Lappeenranta and Amsterdam, graduating in 2004. She creates installations, sculptures, and jewelry works, with ornamentation as a central starting point. Other sources of inspiration include African dress culture, 17th–19th century paintings, everyday objects, architecture, and interior design. In her works, she mixes different techniques and materials, such as wood, glass, textiles, and found objects. Anna Rikkinen's jewelry pieces are not necessarily meant to be worn. However, what is central to her work is the embodied experience—how the artwork transforms the viewer and impacts the surrounding environment.
