Music and festivals
July kicks off with Savonia's smallest festival. Now in its fourth year, the festival brings together music, people, cold drinks, and a festival atmosphere. The opening concert of the Joroinen Music Days will be held, as is tradition, in the Juva Church. The program combines the music of three artists born in 1935: Aulis Sallinen's impressive musical language, Martti Talvela's legacy as a singer, and Arvo Pärt's mystical minimalism. Performers include baritone Ville Rusanen and bass Timo Riihonen.
