World heritage archipelago
The unique Kvarken Archipelago is Finland's only Natural World Heritage Site on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Together with Sweden's High Coast, the Kvarken Archipelago is the best place in the world to experience and understand the land uplift phenomenon caused by the last Ice Age.
There is a lot to see and do in the area. You can explore on your own or join a guided tour. The easiest way to explore the World Heritage Site is to head over to Replot, located in Korsholm, 25 km from the center of Vaasa. Cross Finland’s longest road bridge and you will be at the World Heritage Site.
