Doctor of Arts Kärt Summatavet works as a consultant and curator at the University of Tartu’s Institute of Computer Science. She graduated as a metal artist in Tallinn (1982–1987) and creates jewelry and graphic art, having participated in international exhibitions since 1986. She earned her doctorate in 2005 at the University of Art and Design Helsinki (now Aalto University) in Finland. She works as an artist, designer, researcher, project manager, education and creative economy expert, entrepreneur, trainer, innovator, and author of many books and scientific publications, which she utilizes in international innovation project consulting. Her research focuses on oral history, creativity, culture, tradition, and innovation.
