This painting depicts the Adoration of the Shepherds. It is actually a reproduction of an original piece by Nesterov. This one was originally painted for the Chapel of Peace that stood next to Uspenski in the beginning of 20th century, but after the chapel was demolished, it found its way to the Uspenski cathedral.
