Boris and Gleb are a pair of princes from the 11th century. Their father was the Grand Prince of Kiev, Vladimir the Great. They were both murdered during the Kievan Succession crisis of 1015-1019, when they refused to use violence in the face of evil. They are very popular in Ukraine.
