Saint Nicholas (Painted on old wood)
Saint Nicholas wonderworker was the archibishop of Myra during the 4th century. It is said that he once prevented a famine with his prayers. After his death, his relics have also been known for their miracles, such as leaking myrrh.
This icon is one of the older icons in the cathedral. The painting is from around late 18th century, but the wood it’s painted on might be even older. Jesus and Virgin Mary can also be seen in the icon.
