Saint Nicholas was the archbishop of Myra around the 4th century. This specific icon was donated to the cathedral by the lower officers of a naval unit shortly after the cathedral was consecrated in 1868. There’s a metal donation plate embedded into the silver riza written in Church Slavonic. On top of the icon, there’s another icon, depicting the Hospitality of Abraham. The Holy Trinity, Abraham and Sarah, the wife of Abraham, are present in the icon.
