Cristal Snow: One Woman Snow
The solo work Cristal Snow: One Woman Snow, which was the main work of KokoTeatteri in autumn 2025, will continue in the spring 2026 program. One Woman Snow is Cristal Snow's first solo work. It is a play where memories, music and drag meet.
One Woman Snow is a unique solo work in which drag artist Cristal Snow opens the doors to the stages of her life – honestly, playfully and with the accompaniment of music. This autofictional show takes the viewer through her multi-generational journey: from the women and images of women who have influenced her, to the history of drag through her eyes – and what happens when one’s identity is both a performer and a living, breathing human being. The work is at once a personal narrative and a more general discourse on identity, expression and being on stage.
The play combines theatre, speech, music and visual retrospective. However, what we see on stage above all is a person who builds himself up to be visible – and perhaps at the same time dismantles perceptions of what Cristal Snow has been and will be. The work is directed by Anna Veijalainen, theatre director of KokoTeatteri. Timo Hirvonen is responsible for the music and vocal coach Jutta Annala is also involved. The work and the writing of the story are supported by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation.
