Welcome to the largest market event in Northern Ostrobothnia on Saturday, 26 September 2026! The Potato Market (Perunamarkkinat) is held annually on the last Saturday of September and features around 200 market vendors and community organisations.

The Tyrnävä Potato Market offers a fun and diverse program for the whole family! At the market, you can fill your winter storage with potatoes and other vegetables. There will also be a local food market with the popular Oulu 2026 Arctic Food Lab pop-up restaurants, music, fun stage entertainment, a diverse children's program, crafts, design and a wide selection of various market sales.

This family-friendly event brings together hundreds of vendors and thousands of visitors to enjoy traditional market atmosphere and a refreshed, diverse programme in celebration of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture year.

The Potato Market also provides information on the uses of potatoes, the characteristics of different varieties, and both professional and hobby cultivation.

See you at the Potato Market!

The Potato Market is organised by the Lions Club Tyrnävä ry, which donates the proceeds from the event's ticket sales and the market space rents it collects to charity every year. The programme and ticket prices will be updated closer to the 2026 event.

Free bus transportation to the Potato Market is available from Oulu and Kempele. Timetables will be published closer to the event. Tyrnävä is also served by the Oulu region public transport system at the standard regional fare: reittiopas.osl.fi
