Above the church opens a striking copper dome, built from 22 kilometres of copper tape. The dome is supported by concrete beams and surrounded by 180 narrow skylights that allow daylight to flood in, even during Finland’s dark winter months. This ring of light creates the illusion that the dome is gently floating above the rock walls.

The elliptical shape of the hall amplifies both sound and light, making the interior glow warmly during concerts and services. From outside, the green-patinated copper roof blends seamlessly with the rocky landscape, a feature the architects considered essential to keeping the church a natural part of the hill.
