Wolfram views the world from a female perspective. She enjoys challenging and confronting the viewer with questions related to exclusion and inclusion. She reflects on our contemporary culture of posing and our endless hunger to be seen. Her portraits capture intimate glimpses of fleeting moments in which something uncovered and real appears. They seem to look back at us and ask: What do you see when you look at me?
In her paintings she combines mixed media with oil, acrylic, and ink on MDF panels or cardboard. Maria Wolfram holds a degree from Kingston University and Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of London (2002). She exhibits regularly both in Finland and abroad.
