Hamina's Museum Street exudes history. Wars and soldiers have shaped Hamina's appearance over the years.
Museostreet is about 500 meters long, starting at the intersection of Raatihuoneentori and Kadettikoulunkatu. Hamina city is home to Finland's oldest continuously operating military base, which has been hosted by Swedish, Russian, Finnish, and, for a short time, German soldiers. All of them have left their mark over a period of more than 300 years.
The buildings, structures, monuments, and surroundings bear the traces of different eras. The linden trees lining the street, which are well over a hundred years old, provide shade and a pleasant atmosphere.
