By Anna Uddenberg (1982–) (SE)
Material: Bronze, stainless steel, water pump
Year: 2017
Free Fall is a bronze goddess of freedom of the modern times. The character radiates an ecstatic feeling that is strongly connected to the modern-day experience culture. Anna Uddenberg has studied movement between different experiences and how the experiences materialise into commercial products. Flyboarding is an activity that makes impressions about the future visible and takes our thoughts towards the concepts of freedom, security and technology. The work was ordered by the Swedish National Art Council upon the commission of the Swedish government, and it was Sweden’s gift on the occasion of Finland’s 100th anniversary of independence in 2017. The sculpture is owned by the Finnish State Art Commission.
