

Uspenski Cathedral, located in Helsinki's Katajanokka district, is the largest Orthodox church in Western Europe. Consecrated in 1868, it was designed by Russian architect Aleksei Gornostajev and stands as a prominent symbol of Russian influence in Finland. The cathedral's striking red-brick façade, golden cupolas, and intricate interiors draw approximately half a million visitors annually. Inside, visitors can admire the Kozelshchyna wonderworking icon of the Mother of God, one of the Finnish Orthodox Church's most revered spiritual treasures.
