Church stables were used in Ostrobothnia as resting places for horses during church services. There was a living room upstairs where people could change from their travelling clothes into church clothes. If the journey to church was long, the room could also be used for overnight stays. This church stable is from Kaarlela, in Central Ostrobothnia.
