Pertinotsa house originates from Suojärvi in Border Karelia, which is now in Russian territory. The building has two floors. On the upper floor are the rooms where the family lived. On the lower floor is a food storage and a barn for the animals. This type of house was common in Russian Karelia and Border Karelia. Pertinotsa house was built between the 1850s and 1880s. The furniture style and painted icons of the dwelling indicate that the inhabitants were Eastern Orthodox.
