The sod-roofed hay cabin and the storehouse, which stands on posts, were relocated to Seurasaari from Nuorgam in Lapland. Since conifer trees do not grow far north in the Utsjoki region, the logs needed to build the hut were originally transported to Nuorgam from further south. The cottage was used during the haymaking season and is furnished with a fireplace, table, three chairs, and a couple of shelves.
