When Kallio Church was completed in the autumn of 1912, seven bells and a bell tower were simultaneously built in the massive tower. In 1909, the building committee had asked composers Jean Sibelius, Oskar Merikanto and the church's first organist Ilmari Krohn to be experts on the bells.

The bells weights over 1500kg together.
