Historical apple orchards

Large portions of Amos Anderson's land were requisitioned after the war to provide arable land for the evacuated population from Karelia. To preserve the area closest to the main building in a unified manner, he had apple trees planted: specialized orchards could not be requisitioned. However, he did employ a number of Karelians on the estate.
