Apple Day artwork | Concrete steel, uranium glass

This piece is created by the artisan Jarl Hohenthal (b. 1991) who specializes in glass. Hohenthal, who is from Vänoxa on the Kimito Island, studied glass blowing and glass shaping for 2.5 years at the Riksglasskolan in southern Sweden, and then founded his own glass cabin in the old steel foundry in Dalsbruk. The apple tree piece is a combination of sturdy concrete steel and light uranium glass. Thanks to the lighting and the dye used in the manufacture of the glass, the work wakes up to a cunning shine at nightfall, as if it was spending a double life.
