Rotuaari is a lively pedestrian street in the heart of Oulu. Its name comes from the French word "trottoir", which means pavement. The area is a bustling hub of shops, cafés and restaurants and a popular meeting place for locals.

One of Rotuaari's most recognisable landmarks is the statue designed in 1989 by Seppo Valjus called Keskusaukion kaivohuone, more commonly known as the Rotuaari's ball.

Rotuaari hosts various cultural events, such as concerts and festivals, throughout the year. Thanks to an underground heating system, the pedestrian streets remain snow-free even in winter.
