The rows of linden trees and the fountain offer a cozy resting place for passersby and an enjoyable playground for children. In the past, Heinätori Park hosted agricultural exhibitions, among other events. In the early 20th century, the site of the fountain in the middle of the park housed a water supply reservoir, which was landscaped inside a tall Art Nouveau-style wooden tower. The high wooden tower was demolished in 1937. The playground has been renovated several times over the years, but it has remained in the same location since the 1960s.
