Mannerheim Park is a vibrant event space in the heart of Oulu, with the Freedom Statue by Into Saxelin at its center. Originally, the site housed a wooden block district that was lost to a fire in 1916, leading to its transformation into a park in 1927. It was named in honor of Marshal Mannerheim’s 75th birthday in 1942. The most recent major renovation, completed in 2019, enhanced the park’s functionality, creating an inviting event square, elegant illuminated fountains, and well-equipped facilities for small gatherings. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a grill kiosk and a children’s playground. This charming urban oasis serves as both a peaceful retreat and a lively venue for events, bringing people together in the heart of Oulu.
