The castle's chapel was located in this space until the 1550s. The chapel had a dirt floor, no chairs, and no fireplace. The walls were whitewashed and may have featured wall paintings.

The clock visible in the window alcove was made in Stockholm in 1727. It was used as an alarm bell for the garrison fortress.
