The pearl gate is painted on the vaulted arch called the triumphal arch of the church's choir. The pearly gates are on the same spot where the veil was in the temple in Jerusalem. When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the Jerusalem temple was torn from top to bottom. That is why the pearly gates are an open gate, inviting us to the communion table. There are more than 1000 gold leaf beads in the gate.
