The History of the Castle exhibition and the Riches of Häme living room are located in the southern perimeter wall of the castle, in the former guardhouse. The history of the castle presents the colourful past of Häme Castle and personal stories from different centuries. There are also never-before-seen artefacts found in the castle.
In the Riches of Häme living room, an overview of the history of Häme is given in the light of metal detector discoveries, among other things. In the living room you can also browse through kyppi.fi-service, which provides information on archaeological sites and architectural heritage. The living room also displays the famous swords of the Janakkala swordsman. You can also watch a documentary film about the restoration of the castle in the 1950s and 1960s.
The main guard was made in 1783. On the ground floor of the building there were two crew rooms, an officers' room and the quarters for the arresting officers. Upstairs there were rooms for Finnish male and female prisoners.
