These two lamps, positioned on either side of the entrance to the Gallery of Portraits, are procession lamps. They functioned by housing a light source, such as a candle, which illuminated religious images and saints displayed on the sides, as seen here. This created a magical and striking optical effect.

Used from the 17th to the 18th centuries, these lamps were employed to enhance and add grandeur to religious processions, making them more impressive and majestic during that period.
