The organ in Oscars Church is one of the largest in Sweden and was built in 1949 by the Danish organ-building firm Marcussen & Son. The organ quickly became famous both within and outside of the country's borders. For Swedish organ building, it was epoch-making. It broke with the prevailing Romantic tradition and was connected, in terms of construction and sound, to the organs of the Baroque period. The organ includes a so-called "remote division," which originates from the previous organ in the church. The remote division is located in the church attic and is played from the main organ via electric transmission. Like heavenly tones, the sound then emerges through two openings in the choir vault above the altar.
