The mill, built on Sammati's rural idyll in 1893, grinded the grain of the cooperatives, sawed timber and even produced electricity for the needs of the farm. The farm, which has since been transferred to private ownership, was named Vuorikoski after its former owner.
Today, the Vuorikoski farm is inhabited by a couple of entrepreneurs working in the visual arts. The mill, which has been restored to its original appearance, is open to visitors. There is also a vintage shop with locally produced delicacies in the courtyard.
