The tradition of sending Christmas cards originates from Germany and the late 1800s. Via Sweden, the tradition quickly spread to Finland. At first the Christmas cards were imported, and the motifs were often romantic winter landscapes with birds, churches, angels, children, Christmas trees and packages. In the museum Ett Hem there are Christmas and New Year's cards from friends and acquaintances that were sent to the Jacobsson family.
