The Santalahti nature trail takes you to smooth coastal rocks and untouched forests, allowing your nerves to relax and your senses to experience the salty sea air.
The 4.4 km long nature trail runs through the island to the rocky southern shores, offering stunning views of the archipelago in the Gulf of Finland. On a clear day, you can even see across to Russia's Suursaari. The forested section at the end of the trail reveals the beauty of the forest, its smells, and sounds. Along the route, you'll encounter rugged archipelago rocks, forests, gentle and steep rocky shores, as well as excellent swimming and picnic spots under the shelter of coastal rocks or erratic boulders. These beaches are also popular with dogs.
There are 23 informational signs along the trail, providing details about the area and its history. The signs cover topics such as tar pits, "Devil's Field," and the characteristic rapakivi rock of southeastern Finland.
