Kotka's Äijänniemi Beach is a few hundred meters long natural stone and sandy beach that faces south. The beach is shallow and well-suited for children.

The beach has a changing cabin and a portable toilet. The beach area also includes a beach volleyball court, picnic tables, and a children's swing area. There are two life rings and ropes on the beach. The actual swimming area is marked by buoys. There is no lifeguard on duty at the beach.
