The Saimaa Geopark site features a 1.3 km nature trail between the Pattoin Heritage House and the Aaronlaavu hut located by the shores of Lake Jukajärvi, within a protected nature area.

The trail follows the path that once led past the Pattoin Heritage House to the shore of Jukajärvi, and from there across the ice towards the winter road that led to Piikkilä Manor. The trail can be walked from the Pattoin Heritage House yard to the shore of Jukajärvi, or vice versa. At the midpoint of the route within the protected area, there are boardwalks and a resting spot. At the hut by Jukajärvi, it's a great place to roast sausages or bake stick buns. Another hut is located at the edge of the spruce forest near Pattoin Heritage House.

Along the way, hikers are treated to views of Pattoin estate's meadow fields and the pristine, beautiful spruce forest of the protected area, complete with bogs and enormous ant hills. In the tranquility of the forest, one can listen to the birdsong and the wind rustling through the branches of the ancient spruce trees, and marvel at the sheep bridge – how is it that the sheep don't escape across the bridge into the forest?

The Pattoin Winter Road nature trail is easy to navigate and is well-suited for families. The trail is marked with Saimaa Geopark logo posts.
