The gray stone church dominating the townscape of Juva was built in 1863, designed by architects Ernst Lohrmann and Carl Albert Edelfelt.

The stone church, located in the center of Juva, was commissioned by Georg Grotenfelt, the owner of Wehmaa Manor. The acoustically excellent church can accommodate about 1,600 people and hosts concerts and singing events throughout the year, in addition to religious services.

The altar painting was created by Aleksandra Frosterus-Såltin. The chandeliers above the central aisle once illuminated the University of Helsinki's ceremonial hall.

The church park is dominated by a war hero cemetery. The archway, depicting a sentinel soldier, was carved by Tapio Wirkkala. The hero cross in the center was unveiled in 1955.

The church park also features memorial stones for Infantry Regiment 49, the fallen soldiers who remained in Karelia, and Kaarle Akseli Gottlund. Next to the church's main door is a relief by sculptor Taru Mäntynen, which was unveiled on the 550th anniversary of Juva on January 19, 1992.
